I had the privilege of working with Sande Friedman, manager of the Di Bruno Bros. wine program, to create an identity for their collaboration series, Di Bruno Bros. & Friends, as well as labels for seven distinctive bottles of wine. The original design team at Mellow Gold created the first five bottles in the numbered series, and when I took the lead on label No. 6, we began exploring more experimental, freeform concepts. From cut-paper shapes and gradients to Italian Market doodles and collage, we enjoyed playing across an expansive visual spectrum. It was both refreshing and exhilarating each time Sande brought us a deeply passionate winemaker paired with an out-of-the-bottle idea.
